Elections are a procedure through which the people, the owner of national sovereignty, designate their representative authorities: Chamber of Deputies, Senate, President of Romania, mayors, local councils. Elections have to be free, periodical and correct.
The electoral body comprises only a part of the population, its politically mature and active part. The minimum age in order to vote is 18 years. The electorate is important for the election of representative authorities and the validity of electoral actions (electoral majorities). The electorate is the decision-making part of the people. It is the only pouvoir originaire, on the basis of which the State power and the power of the state authorities are legitimated. Thus, the electorate, should be educated and correctly informed.
