Andreea CĂRARE – The Prospects of the Romanian Constitution in the European context

Accession to the European Union represents a historic moment for each State, when the main challenge is the definition and harmonization of its national identity within an European structure marked by complexity and cohesion. The revision of the Constitution is one and perhaps the most important way that Romania has chosen to achieve these goals.

Following an overview of the manner in which the accession to the European structures has influenced the constitutions of other states, this study analyses the provisions of the Romanian Constitution required by EU accession. The analysis includes both the manner and extent to which such regulation comply with reality sis years after the constitutional revision and two years after the actual accession.
